The genus Euphyllia is a family of corals that belong to the LPS, due to their beautiful and attractive appearance, and that they have a resistance and relatively easy maintenance, they are one of the most common corals to find in aquariums.
These corals are found in calm and slightly turbulent waters from 1 to 30 meters deep, they prefer sunny areas, but without direct light and gentle currents.
They have a characteristic morphology with trunks and a calcareous skeleton that can have different shapes, which makes it possible to distinguish their different species. In general, their polyps are large and fleshy with long tentacles that always stretch out unless there is some interference between them causing them to retract. These polyps can have different colors, from brown to green, purple and pink,… the tips of their tentacles usually show iridescent shades of different colors and are covered with cilia to help them catch food.
